As a complete, robust, scalable, enterprise level tracking system, ExtraView may be extended through its rich Application Programming Interface (API) and with custom code additions. ExtraView is rich in many aspects, but there is always the possibility that you have a unique requirement, or need to integrate with a home-grown tool. ExtraView supports most of the same commands through its API, that are supported through the web-based GUI.

ExtraView uses Java as its base programming language, and using its "user custom" programming feature, new Java and/or JavaScript code can be used to extend, modify or replace functionality within the base product. Importantly - not a single line of ExtraView's native source code needs to be changed with this mechanism, preserving your investment in development when upgrades are installed..
